Small Merchant Project - Lenese Naval Ministries Our ministries have developed a small merchant program that will enable families to become self-sufficient. Because many men and women are unemployed, they have no choice but to buy and sell what ever they can find to survive.

To buy, they usually invest 500 Gourdes ($11.76 USD) or less, according to what they are able to find. By using a small wooden tray or basket, they usually sell rice, beans, mangoes, cooking oil, etc. These men and women are not able to obtain a bank loan.

Lenese Naval Ministries realizes that economic development cannot occur successfully when only a few are included. To fulfill its mission of building economic foundation in Haiti, the ministry has created this new loan program to help small merchants in their earliest stages of economic development.

These loans range as follows:

5,000 Gourdes ($117.65 USD) to 250,000 Gourdes ($5,882.35 USD)

The ministry hopes to remain with them from the beginning of their business through their development into successful traders where they are able to obtain small business bank loans. We will provide them the necessary small trader business management education and charge a 3% interest to enable the ministry to help more merchants.
